Composition Assignment

This is an example of good composition because it captures symmetrical balance. If you were to fold the picture of the center piece in half, you would see the same thing on both sides.

This is another example of good composition because it shows the proportion or scale principle of art. It measures the size of my puppy to the size of a basketball to show how small the dog really is.

This is my last example of good composition, as it is an example of movement. The colors of the flowers and book create movement where your eye follows the purple flowers to the pink and finally to the white.

This is an example of bad composition because it is an "in jail" picture. The benches are at the center of the picture and brings your focus only toward them. It does not allow your eye to really see the rest of the picture or let your imagination go.
